lyrics

won’t you take me down now
to the twist-up garden?
won’t you take me down now
to the twist-up garden?

excuse me, baby, please, girl
could you beg my pardon?
excuse me, baby, please, girl
could you beg my pardon?

excuse me, baby, please, girl
could you beg my pardon?

love, love, love, love, love
love, love, love, love, love

won’t you take me down now
to the twist-up garden?
won’t you take me down now
to the twist-up garden?

excuse me, baby, please, girl
could you beg my pardon?
excuse me, baby, please, girl
could you beg my pardon?

notes

I discovered this unfinished gem in a Garageband file on Ross’s laptop shortly after his death. Revisiting it for this project, I noticed a few elements clearly added by me in some earlier, forgotten attempt to wrangle his stray bits of his creativity into a coherent song. The one part that survived is a bouncy, burbly synth solo — an admittedly out-of-place contribution from my still-grieving younger self.
